HC HEAVY COMBINATION TRUCK LICENCE

HC – Heavy Combination heavy vehicle truck licence is a truck or prime mover towing one trailer. You must have held an MR – Medium Rigid or HR – Heavy Rigid licence for at least 12 months to be eligible.

Do You want to work in the mines?

You need a HR – Heavy Rigid licence to work in the mines. We are RMS accredited to get you on your way to your new career.

THE COURSE

THIS COURSE CAN BE CONDUCTED IN A VEHICLE SUPPLIED BY THE APPLICANT.

Designed for drivers who wish to upgrade from either an MR – Medium Rigid or HR – Heavy Rigid licence. Participants develop the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude to obtain a HC – Heavy Combination heavy vehicle truck licence with a Constant Mesh (Road Ranger) or automatic transmission, through competency based assessment (CBA) with experienced trainers accredited by the RMS.

RMS Requirements

Upgrading from a P1 or P2 licence

Provisional P1 or P2 licence holders are NOT eligible to upgrade to a HC – Heavy Combination vehicle truck licence until you hold a full class or heavy vehicle truck licence.

Assessment

This is a NSW RMS approved heavy vehicle truck licence course. Drivers will be trained and assessed against the RMS competency standards by our RMS accredited assessors. After the required standard of competency has been achieved the RMS will issue the appropriate licence.

Duration of course

The competency based assessment runs for a minimum of 6 hours for automatic, synchromesh and constant mesh (Road Ranger) gearbox as per RMS requirements.
Most trainees will complete the training in approximately 8 – 15 hours, depending on prior experience and how well the trainee applies the set requirements.
