THE COURSE
THIS COURSE CAN BE CONDUCTED IN A VEHICLE SUPPLIED BY THE APPLICANT.
RMS Requirements
- Participants must hold a mimimum of second year of green P's class C [sc name="lr_light_rigid"] licence, or [sc name="mr_medium_rigid"] licence to be eligible for the [sc name="hr_heavy_rigid"] licence.
- Be proficient in the use of an automatic or manual transmission.
- Participants must have completed the [sc name="hr_heavy_rigid"] knowledge test and obtained a CBA learner logbook and guide book.
- The CBA guide book must have been read before starting the course.
- A person who holds a provisional P1 licence is not eligible for a [sc name="HR - Heavy Rigid"] licence.

Assessment
This is a NSW [sc name=”RMS”] approved heavy vehicle truck licence course. Drivers will be trained and assessed against the [sc name=”RMS”] competency standards by our [sc name=”RMS”] accredited assessors. After the required standard of competency has been achieved the [sc name=”RMS”] will issue the appropriate licence.
Duration of course
- 1 Day - Recommended for drivers with knowledge of the constant mesh (Road Ranger) or automatic transmission.
- 2 Day - Recommended for drivers with NO knowledge of the constant mesh (Road Ranger) transmission.
The competency based assessment runs for a minimum of 5 hours for automatic and synchromesh gearbox and 6 hours for constant mesh (Road Ranger) gearbox as per [sc name=”RMS”] requirements. Most trainees will complete the training in approximately 8 – 15 hours, depending on prior experience and how well the trainee applies the set requirements.
