MR MEDIUM RIGID TRUCK LICENCE

[sc name=”mr_medium_rigid”] heavy vehicle truck licence covers any truck or bus with 2 axles and a GVM greater than 8 tonnes. You must hold a minimum of first year of green P’s car licence or higher to obtain this licence.

THE COURSE

THIS COURSE CAN BE CONDUCTED IN A VEHICLE SUPPLIED BY THE APPLICANT.

Designed for drivers who wish to upgrade from a C class or an [sc name=”lr_light_rigid”] licence. Participants develop the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude to obtain a [sc name=”mr_medium_rigid”] heavy vehicle truck licence with a synchromesh manual or automatic transmission, through competency based assessment (CBA) with experienced trainers accredited by the [sc name=”RMS”].

RMS Requirements

Participants must hold a minimum of first year of green P’s class C licence or higher to obtain this licence.
Be proficient in the use of a automatic or manual transmission.
Participants must have completed the [sc name="mr_medium_rigid"] knowledge test and obtained a CBA learner logbook and guide book.
The CBA learners guide book must have been read before starting the course.
A person who holds a provisional P1 licence is not eligible for a [sc name="mr_medium_rigid"] licence.

Upgrading from a P1 or P2 licence

Provisional P1 or P2 licence holders who also hold a Class [sc name=”lr_light_rigid”], [sc name=”mr_medium_rigid”] or [sc name=”hr_heavy_rigid”] heavy vehicle truck licence will remain a provisional licence holder until they have held the provisional licence for a minimum of 2 years. There is no variation to this rule and an unrestricted licence will not be issued until the applicant complies with the requirements of the Graduated Licensing Scheme.

Assessment

This is a NSW [sc name=”RMS”] approved heavy vehicle truck licence course. Drivers will be trained and assessed against the [sc name=”RMS”] competency standards by our [sc name=”RMS”] accredited assessors. After the required standard of competency has been achieved the [sc name=”RMS”] will issue the appropriate licence.

Duration of course

The competency based assessment runs for a minimum of 5 hours as per [sc name=”RMS”] requirements. Most trainees will complete the training in approximately 8 hours, depending on prior experience and how well the trainee applies the set requirements.
